Calculated SharePoint Fields are Broken in Access (Fixed)

Description

A regression in Version 2607 (build 16.0.20228.20110), released to Current Channel on 2026-07-23, broke calculated fields in SharePoint lists linked to Access. When the Caching Web Service and SharePoint Tables option, "Use the cache format that is compatible with Microsoft Access 2010 and later" is checked, calculated fields in linked SharePoint lists display # Error both in Datasheet View and in form and report controls.

Unchecking the "Use the cache format that is compatible with Microsoft Access 2010 and later" option allows calculated values to be displayed but may cause performance problems.

Status

Microsoft has released a bugfix in the Current Channel version 2607. 

You will need to restart Access to pick up the change (the version/build won't change).

Workaround

Reverting to Version 2606 or earlier will fix the issue.

This bug is a regression in Current Channel. It is another reminder that we recommend production applications be deployed in the Monthly Enterprise Channel.
