Visual Glitches and Format Problems

Description

In version 2607 and later there are different types of visual and formatting errors mainly with reports, but also in forms:

1. Labels, button captions etc. and even the text in the property pane "randomly" are displayed with white backgrounds and big, old fonts

2. Lines in reports get printed in a wrong size or position

3. Some report pages are printed in a fraction of the correct size

4. Report margins are changed, which alters the page layout or can cut off text

Cause

The culprit has not yet been definitively determined. The prime suspect at this time is an Office security update.

Status

Microsoft is investigating the issues. 

Of course, we'll keep this article and especially the status up to date.

Workaround

For one type of display issue (item 1. above), it has been reported and also tested by us that rolling back to version 2606 build 16.0.20131.20154 resolves the problems. If you are affected by any of the symptoms, it would be helpful for others if you could share in a comment here whether a rollback fixed the issue for you.
